Easy Hennessy Margarita Recipe

If you love Hennessy and want to try something new, this Hennessy Margarita recipe is for you. This classic recipe combines Cognac with aged Tequila and lime, giving it a lemony twist that is packed with flavor.

Hennessy margarita is a classic combination of Cognac and lime. It was invented in Mexico in the 1930s and is a popular drink in bars ever since. Here’s what you will need:

  • Hennessy Cognac
  • Lime Juice
  • Triple Sec or Cointreau
  • Tequila

Choice of Tequila

The choice of tequila in margaritas and cocktails matters a lot. From my experience, tequila reposado works best with Hennessy. It has a smooth flavor with hints of vanilla, caramel, and oak which goes great with Cognac.

Tequila blanco is another great combination with Cognac as it has more of a citrusy flavor with undertones of pepper, and spice. Both tequilas compliment the bold flavor of Hennessy with notes of vanilla, fruit, and nuts.

Using Triple Sec or Cointreau

The choice depends upon the type of drink you are making. Cointreau is best with this margarita as it has a smooth flavor with undertones of warm spices. It’s an orange liqueur that pairs well with tequila reposado.

Triple Sec has a more citrusy flavor which works well with orange cocktails and margaritas.
