There are a lot of ways you can make asparagus and serve it as a side dish. It can be boiled, roasted, or steamed. But did you know that you can also roast asparagus in a toaster oven?
Roasting asparagus in the toaster oven is the fastest and simplest way to cook asparagus. After trying it myself, I can say it’s my recommended method now as it’s the fastest and requires less time to prep.
Within 15 minutes, you have tasty and crunchy asparagus that you can serve with any meal. You don’t have to turn on the oven or spend hours prepping the asparagus for grilling.
This recipe is amazing, especially during summers when you don’t want to go anywhere near the oven.
I recommend making small amounts of asparagus in the oven at a time to keep them intact. If you have a large countertop oven, you can cook a pound of asparagus.
This recipe only requires a few ingredients like olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and walnuts. You can enhance the flavor by adding minced garlic. The toasty garlic will give aroma to the asparagus, and make the stalks tastier especially when you season with salt and pepper.
The cooked asparagus is topped off with a dash of balsamic vinegar. If you don’t have balsamic vinegar, you can substitute 1 tbsp red wine vinegar and 1 tbsp maple syrup. It gives the same flavor as the balsamic vinegar – sweet and savory.
