Oscar Academy Reveals List of Movies Eligible for 2022 Best Picture Award

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced 276 films that are eligible for Best Picture Award. The 94th Oscars are set to air on 27 March on ABC. The awards will take place in Dolby Theater in Hollywood. 

This year, the number of movies are less, as compared to last year during which 366 movies were eligible for the award. Last year the eligibility period ran until 28 February 2021, which has been shortened to 10 months only this year. The nominations will begin on January 7, till February 1. 

Since the 2018 Oscar Awards, the upcoming ceremony will have a host. Glenn Weiss will direct the Oscars, with Will Packer as the producer. In 2018, Jimmy Kimmel hosted the show which was tuned by 26.6 million people across the world. During a recent interview, Tom Holland, Spider-Man: No Way Home Star has expressed interest in hosting the Oscars, but for now, we are not sure who the host will be.
